STARKVILLE, Miss. – July 2, 2026 — Camgian, a leader in AI-enabled kill chain automation software, today announced the appointment of Dr. Clay Stanek as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Stanek has served as Camgian’s Chief Scientist for the past three years, advancing the development and application of advanced AI and machine learning solutions across key air and missile defense mission areas. With 33 years of experience and seven patents in data fusion and sensor correlation technologies, Dr. Stanek has led the development of reinforcement learning and advanced AI models that support mission-critical defense capabilities. This expertise positions him to guide Camgian’s technology and product strategy while accelerating the next generation of AI and machine learning innovation to address increasingly complex multi-domain air and missile defense threats and emerging national defense priorities.
As CTO, Dr. Stanek will lead Camgian’s technical strategy, guiding the evolution of the company’s technology roadmap and shaping the direction of its core AI capabilities and intellectual property. He will oversee the continued development and advancement of Reactor®, Camgian’s AI-enabled kill chain automation platform, driving the evolution of its core architecture, AI capabilities, and expanded application across multi-domain defense operations. Dr. Stanek will provide leadership across the product development team, aligning product, engineering, and data science teams to deliver scalable, mission-ready capabilities that meet the evolving needs of today’s warfighters.
Dr. Stanek has more than three decades of experience applying machine learning to defense missions and leading the development of advanced technology systems. Prior to Camgian, he served as Chief Technologist for the Army Analytics Group and as a Technical Fellow at Northrop Grumman and later Peraton, where he led AI initiatives across cyber, readiness, and decision support. In these roles, he developed predictive models and decision-support tools used by senior military leaders, translating complex data into actionable insights for large-scale operational environments. Earlier in his career, he held senior technical and executive roles focused on machine learning, sensor fusion, and real-time systems, delivering capabilities that improved mission performance across the defense enterprise. This experience brings a systems-level perspective and a disciplined approach to product development, grounded in translating complex data, algorithms, and models into capabilities that can be applied in multi-domain scenarios.
“Clay has already made significant contributions to Camgian as our Chief Scientist, shaping some of our most advanced AI capabilities,” said Dr. Gary Butler, CEO of Camgian. “As Chief Technology Officer, we look forward to the continued impact of his insight and leadership as we advance and scale our Reactor® platform.”
Dr. Stanek earned a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge, along with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the holder of seven patents in data fusion and sensor correlation technologies, including Methods and Arrangements to Enhance Correlation, Methods and Arrangements to Enhance Gridlocking, Image Compression to Enhance Optical Correlation, and Gridlocking and Correlation Methods and Arrangements. His work has focused on advancing tracking, pattern recognition, and multi-sensor data integration for mission-critical systems. “My career has been centered on applying mathematical modeling and machine learning to mission-critical defense challenges,” said Dr. Stanek. “Camgian’s focus on delivering operational capability is what drew me here. I’m excited to continue advancing technologies that deliver meaningful impact for our customers.”
Dr. Stanek’s appointment marks an important step in Camgian’s continued growth, strengthening the company’s ability to advance its technology and deliver AI-enabled capabilities at scale. His experience across machine learning, data fusion, and mission-critical systems will support the continued evolution of Reactor® and position Camgian to meet the demands of modern, multi-domain defense missions.
