Camgian Appoints Will Johnson as Chief Operating Officer to Scale Operations and Accelerate Program Growth

STARKVILLE, Miss. – June 11, 2026 — Camgian, a leader in AI-enabled kill chain automation software, today announced the appointment of Will Johnson as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Johnson joins Camgian from Palantir Technologies, where he served as a Business Development Executive focused on defense markets. A decorated U.S. Army veteran and seasoned defense industry executive, Mr. Johnson brings over two decades of proven experience scaling large organizations, driving program execution, and delivering results for government customers at the highest levels. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Mr. Johnson will serve as Camgian’s senior leader and primary point of presence in the Huntsville market, one of the most strategically important defense technology corridors in the nation, while overseeing Camgian’s day-to-day operations from the company’s Huntsville office.
In his new role, Mr. Johnson will lead Camgian’s operational scaling efforts, taking direct responsibility for program execution, customer growth, and the day-to-day performance of business operations. He will lead the operational and programmatic execution required to accelerate the deployment of Reactor®, Camgian’s AI-enabled kill chain automation platform, ensuring customers receive mission-ready capabilities that keep pace with the demands of modern multi-domain operations. Mr. Johnson will also be the face of Camgian in Huntsville, cultivating relationships with defense customers, government stakeholders, and industry partners across Redstone Arsenal. His appointment reflects Camgian’s commitment to building the operational infrastructure needed to match the company’s rapid growth trajectory.
Mr. Johnson’s career is defined by a consistent track record of scaling complex organizations, executing high-stakes programs, and growing customer relationships across the defense enterprise. At Palantir Technologies, he led business development efforts in the defense sector, translating advanced software capabilities into mission value for Army and DoD customers. Prior to Palantir, he served as a Principal for Logistics Strategy and Integration at LMI, where he advised senior government leaders on large-scale operational and programmatic challenges. Before entering the private sector, Mr. Johnson culminated a distinguished Army career as Chief of Operations at U.S. Army Materiel Command, the Army’s premier materiel enterprise, where he led a 24-hour mission command center delivering readiness solutions for a globally employed force of over 190,000 personnel operating across more than 150 countries. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Director for U.S. Army Installation Command Pacific Region, overseeing 12 major installations supporting over 310,000 people across a 20 million square mile area and managing an annual budget of approximately $1.6 billion. His earlier command of U.S. Army Garrison Japan further demonstrated his ability to lead large, geographically dispersed organizations spanning 17 installations across more than 1,500 miles. Throughout his career, Mr. Johnson has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to build high-performing teams, drive execution at scale, and deliver for the customers and stakeholders he serves.
“Will is exactly the leader we need to take Camgian’s operations to the next level,” said Dr. Gary Butler, CEO of Camgian. “He has spent his career building organizations that perform under pressure, execute programs that matter, and grow customer relationships that sustain long-term mission impact. His presence in Huntsville gives us a credible senior leader embedded in the heart of the Army’s acquisition and operational community — and that is a significant advantage as we scale Reactor® across the force. We are thrilled to welcome Will to the Camgian executive team.”
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management. He holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College and completed post-graduate research on Energy and National Security Policy as a fellow at Georgetown University. “Camgian is building something truly important and impactful for our warfighters, and I am eager to help scale it,” said Will Johnson, Chief Operating Officer. “My focus will be on driving the operational rigor, program execution discipline, and customer relationships needed to grow our impact across the defense enterprise. Huntsville is a community I know well and care deeply about, and I look forward to representing Camgian here while making sure our team has the leadership and support they need every day to deliver for our customers.”
Mr. Johnson’s appointment signals a new chapter in Camgian’s growth, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building world-class operational capabilities, expanding its customer base, and delivering Reactor® at scale across multi-domain defense programs. His deep roots in the Huntsville defense community and his proven track record of program execution and organizational growth position him as a key driver of Camgian’s next phase of expansion.
