Director of Huntsville Operations & Product Technical Manager
Camgian is searching for an experienced technical manager to support our growing business. As a Product Technical Manager (PTM) you will provide strategic technical guidance to convert product vision and product features into an executable plan to successfully deliver the products defined by the Business Unit. The PTM defines the system architecture, key algorithms, and tasks required to achieve the value proposition, also serving as a subject matter expert to guide the engineering team through the product development life cycle. The PTM formulates intellectual property strategies to minimize product costs and to generate company value. The ideal candidate encourages an environment that promotes excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork. This role will report to the EVP of Product Development. As the local Huntsville representative, you will develop and maintain relationships with local community leaders, vendors, and partners aimed at advancing Camgian’s work.

Expertise and hands-on experience with system architecture in software applications

Understanding capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs of technologies across engineering subject matters

Demonstrated experience in translating customer needs to system definition of features and design specs

Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to define product system architectures

Demonstrated ability to identify and manage product and program technical risks

Demonstrated experience in product implementation

Excellent problem solving and engineering skills

Experience with integration constraints, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and solutions

10+ years professional experience

Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical degree

Key Responsibilities

Manage operations in the Huntsville office

Help support local recruiting efforts in the Huntsville area

Define the system architecture, key technical attributes, algorithms, and tasks required to ensure the value proposition is achieved

Estimate time and resources required to complete tasks including obtaining input from development teams
-
Define acceptance criteria for technical tasks to ensure the development team has achieved the task goals
-
Mentor the product development teams as necessary to achieve function, schedule, and budgets
-
Determine whether the product was satisfactorily delivered to ensure the development team meets acceptance criteria
-
Build and maintain a robust, forward looking, prioritized product backlog to inform the development team on resource, schedule, and scope decisions
-
Interface with customer technical representatives to build customer confidence and trust
