Camgian Awarded Contract at Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day

STARKVILLE, MS – 12 March 2019 – Camgian was awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract after presenting at the Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day March 6th. Camgian’s Vice President of Defense Programs, Doug “Goz” Gosney, presented the Prowl® radar system as a solution for Air Force Battlefield Airmen under the topic of ISR/SOF (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance/Special Operations Forces).

The Air Force is transforming how they work with startups, universities, and research centers to develop modern business practices compatible with the nation’s growing small business ecosystems of dual-use technologies. Companies successful in their pitch were awarded SBIR contract the same day. A process that would traditionally take months was reduced to about 15 minutes. Over 400 companies submitted proposals, and only 51 were awarded contracts.

This is the first contract between Camgian and the Air Force. “We are very excited to partner with the Air Force regarding technological solutions for our Battlefield Airmen to help ensure they maintain the competitive advantage over our enemies and save American lives,” said Gosney. “We feel honored to have been invited to participate and awarded a phase I contract and look forward to working with Air Force to demonstrate how our technologies make a difference for our warfighters,” says Chairman and CEO, Dr. Gary Butler.
