Camgian Microsystems Announces Successful Next Generation
Quantus Technology Pilot in Oil & Gas Industry
STARKVILLE, MS – August 29th, 2011 – Camgian Microsystems Corporation, provider of advanced machine-to-machine networking technologies and solutions, today announced that it has successfully completed the development and initial testing of its next generation Quantus satellite router technology within the oil and gas industry.
The smaller, more compact router device supports the seamless integration of advanced sensor technologies with ORBCOMM®'s low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite data communications network. Combined with Camgian's cloud-based operations intelligence software, the new GPS-enabled router technology will provide companies and organizations significant value as it relates to the management of their global supply chains.
“The new router provides a gateway to the global ORBCOMM communications network, enabling simple sensor installation without the uncertainties of landline or cellular infrastructure,” said Ryan Jorgenson, Camgian's Vice President of Advanced Systems.
“The new Quantus unit is smaller and more affordable. It targets the liquid storage market in general and specifically the waste oil, lube oil and fuel markets,” said Zvi Huber, Camgian's General Manager of M2M Markets. “This new Quantus development will allow us to improve the value proposition to recyclers and delivery companies and provide valuable remote field data combined with other business information to support decisions and actions related to their inventory and services.”
