STARKVILLE, M.S. – October 22nd, 2010 – Camgian Microsystems Corporation, a provider of advanced electronic systems and semiconductor technologies, today announced that it has been named one of Mississippi's top 100 largest revenue generating private companies for the second consecutive year, according to an annual ranking released this week by the Mississippi Business Journal (MBJ).
2010 marks Camgian's second consecutive year to make the MBJ list which ranks Mississippi's top privately held companies based on annual corporate revenue as determined by resources such as Dun & Bradstreet and Forbes.
The Starkville-based company is one of the fastest growing technology firms in Mississippi with a nationwide customer base in the defense, security and industrial markets. For the nine months ended September 30, 2010, Camgian achieved 11% revenue growth over the same period in 2009 and 220% growth over the past two years.
“Camgian's continued growth in these difficult economic times is a testament to the highly innovative work and prodigious energy of our engineers,” said Camgian President and CEO, Gary D. Butler. “To date, this has been a very productive year as we have successfully established new business in key areas related to semiconductors and industrial systems, which will lead to exciting new products for the company and position us for growth in the future.”
Through its continued commitment to growth and innovation, the company expanded its customer base, corporate footprint and presence in key, new markets during 2010. In January, Camgian announced a deal with Silicon Valley-based Wave Semiconductor, a firm funded by Tallwood Venture Capital and Southern Cross Venture Partners, to transfer its ultra-low power digital circuit technology to the commercial semiconductor market. Additionally, the company continued to achieve growth in the defense sector and has announced plans for a new corporate headquarters facility, which is expected to be completed in December of this year. Most recently, Camgian established a new Washington, DC regional office that is leading the company's new business in the industrial electronic systems market. The company expects to release its first product in this market in the fourth quarter of 2010.
