STARKVILLE, MS – 9 May 2019 –Camgian, an award-winning developer of advanced sensor systems and technologies, announces today that the company has been issued a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for a novel sensor networking and processing architecture for Internet of Things (IoT) methods. The invention number 10,250,690 titled “Multiple Sensor Data Processor Interface and Relay” relates in general to a system and method of networking and interconnecting a large number of diverse sensors to a remote location in an efficient manner. Specifically, the invention utilizes a flexible, configurable, scalable and power-efficient sensor interface relay architecture to gather, process and analyze sensor data in the field and relay insights to a remote location via the Internet. The patent is the second issued related to Camgian’s IoT technology portfolio.
“Processing multi-sensor data at the edge into actionable information and intelligence will be key to near real-time, scalable, and overall low cost, low power IoT deployments,” said Muthu Nagarajan, VP of Engineering. Camgian’s Egburt® platform architecture enables a wide variety of IoT installations that can be optimized to meet operational needs.
The patent supports Camgian’s technology strategy in the IoT market, which is based on an edge (or distributed) computing model. Its Egburt platform includes an embedded server appliance, called Egburt IQ®, which performs in-situ functions such as data ingestion, storage and processing of multi-sensor data streams. The Egburt IQ also provides 4G LTE communications with Egburt’s cloud-hosted Insight® software, which supports data aggregation, analytics and presentation.
