Camgian Networks Moves Into Start Up Phase
Aims to Develop Advanced Wireless Microsystems

STARKVILLE, MS – December 18, 2006 – Dr. Gary D. Butler spins Camgian Networks out of Mississippi State University (MSU) as a Mississippi University Research Act (MURA) Company.

Camgian Networks Inc. will develop advanced wireless microsystems that support critical intelligence and surveillance for a broad range of applications including US national defense and homeland security by bringing together unique expertise and technologies in system architecture, advanced wireless technologies and ultra low power circuitry.

Dr. Butler received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Butler was a senior member of the technical staff of BBN Technologies where he led several DARPA and ONR programs in the areas of low-power, long-endurance unattended ground sensor networks, ultra-wideband radar, and advanced signal processing technologies.

“The possibilities for wireless sensor systems to help monitor and control our environment are pervasive”, says Dr. Butler, “ranging from national and homeland security to industrial control, agriculture and medical telemonitoring. Camgian will provide its customers with complete systems from sensor nodes to user interfaces and data mining software.”
